Take a load off

With the increasing responsibilities placed upon the shoulders of high school students, many experience extreme stress without having healthy ways of dealing with such feelings. As stress remains a threat to a person’s mental wellbeing, the following tips and activities can help students control their stress and clear their minds.
Get eight hours of sleep
Not getting enough sleep often means students cannot perform at their best, leaving them behind in school and feeling overwhelmed. To prevent this added stress, everyone should make sure to get the recommended 8 hours of sleep so they can work at and feel their best.
Exercise
The Anxiety and Depression Association of America states that exercising daily can improve both physical and cognitive function, and help to make someone less stressed. Those feeling stressed can benefit from getting outside and running, doing yoga, or doing any other physical activity they enjoy.
Participate in activities
Remembering to take the time and do things they enjoy remains something most people forget in the middle of a busy, stressful work week. Taking a few minutes out of each day to watch a favorite show, work on a craft, take a nap or go eat lunch with a friend can drastically improve one’s mood, overall outlook and even help them to feel less stressed. ...
Accept imperfections
Possibly one of the largest contributing factors to students stress is the feeling that one must be perfect - make perfect grades, participate in every club, and never make mistakes. Learning to forgive one’s self for not being perfect is crucial to mental well being during the school year, and in life in general.
Learn to prioritize
When it comes to schoolwork, not maintaining an organized schedule and plan for assignments often leads students feeling overwhelmed and overworked. In order to prevent unnecessary stress over due dates, students should learn to schedule the time they work on assignments strategically, and prioritize which assignments are the most important.
