Softball season starting
Another spring, another season – literally. With varsity going 9 -13 and Junior Varsity having a record of 4-12 last year, softball’s lady cougars look to lead the rankings in another great season.
In her second season coaching, junior varsity coach Martinez has a positive outlook on the upcoming season.
“If we stay healthy, confident and work as hard as we have been all year,” Martinez said, “I have high hopes that we will make it to playoffs.”
Varsity acquired many new additions to the roster this year, including star pitcher, Idalia Alarcon, who did not participate last season due to an ankle injury. The lady cougars have gotten stronger, faster, and better than before, looking to bounce back in what looks like a promising season.
“Coaching is all worth it when I see my girls work as hard as I do and it pays off when their skills improve,” Martinez said.
